Help Bring Drinkable Water to the Abaarso Region of Somaliland
Abaarso Water Project
Our proposed Abaarso water project will see us cooperating with the local community and the government of Somaliland. Through a competitive bidding process, the East African Water Development Group will find the right company to survey an area of about 20 square miles to find the best dig site. The approach will be to dig a well for 900 feet which will be maintained by the villagers. Our goal is to train the villagers as we are firm believers on the "train the trainer" concept for sustainability purposes. To read further details about this project, click here.

BUILDING SELF-SUFFICIENT COMMUNITIES
Through funds gained through donations and grants, this project will allow the people of Abaarso to enjoy clean, safe water. Once construction is complete, villagers and herdsmen will use well water for domestic and livestock purposes. Farmers will still depend on rainwater for crops, but will be able to rely on project water for domestic and livestock use. Individuals will have access to clean and safe water for every day consumption and activities!
